ABOUT US

Richmond Live is the main broadcasting team of Richmond College Galle. Richmond Live was born in 2014 mainly for the coverage of the annual "Lovers' Quarrel" two day cricket match held between Mahinda College Galle and Richmond College at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. But as the world has developed at breakneck speeds, the the Richmond Live Team have also adapted, using latest technology to provide a good experience for viewers across the world. The annual big debate is also broadcasted by the Richmond Live team in parallel to the Lovers' Quarrel. Though the Covid 19 pandemic brought the world to a stand still, the Richmond Live team continued it's journey forwards, starting the Richmond's Favourites talk show appreciating the great things done by Richmondites in the past.

"Richmond Live Academy" is a series of workshops conducted by the Richmond Live broadcasting crew for new members who are in contention to be recruited (And it's totally FREE!). One of the sessions conducted in parallel to it is the web design course, conducted by senior member of the Richmond Live Family, Suvin Nimnaka Kodithuwakku, who is an undergraduate at the University of Colombo, School of Computing. This is a basic course which comprises of seven sessions carried out over 7-8 weeks and all the basics from simple HTML and CSS to hosting a website is explained (And it's awesome!). A certificate is awarded to those members who have completed each course (And assignments) and these will be taken into contention during the selection process into the Richmond Live Broadcasting crew. Assignments are given throughout the course and as the final assignment, as a mini project, a website of your own liking has to be designed.
